Moneypenny Review | Advantages, Disadvantages, Alternatives
Corporate Information:
Moneypenny
2915 Premiere Pkwy Suite 200A
Duluth, GA 30097
Moneypenny is the world’s leading provider of virtual receptionists. Your own receptionist, briefed by you, handling your calls and chats exactly as if based in your office.
You can choose to have them take messages or transfer calls to any number worldwide, including mobile phones and Skype numbers. They’ll even email callers with information from your database. They also offer a full range of services such as appointment setting, conference calling and more. It’s all about giving you complete control over how customers reach you – so that they get through when it matters most.
I know that the first question that will come to your mind is whether Money Penny can really replace a real receptionist.
Well, if you are looking to hire a full-time receptionist, it definitely cannot. However, if you want help from a top-rated medical answering service with handling calls and chats for part-time or full-time during the hours your business is closed, Money Penny can come pretty close.
I would say it is a great choice and I am sure that there are plenty of reasons why users continue to stay with them.
It is also fair to mention that they have not posted any complaints online and the account managers there are always very helpful and polite.
Here we answer some of the most important questions potential Money Penny clients might have.
1. How much does Moneypenny cost?
Moneypenny has three service levels, the cheapest one costs $10 per month and gives you an American receptionist to cover all your calls and chats for just 10 cents per minute. The best option costs $20 per month ($19 if paid annually) and provides you with a bilingual UK-based receptionist who is trained in answering questions regarding investments, insurance, and credit cards – this service costs 5 cents per minute.
If you opt for the cheapest service, there are no monthly or hidden fees and no long-term commitment. You can cancel your Money Penny subscription at any time. All they ask is a 30-day notice for annual payments.
2. Moneypenny Quality Of Service – How Good Is It?
Some clients have been using Money Penny for 10+ years and are pretty happy with what they offer. In most cases, the receptionist who answers calls has an American accent but they always ask which country you are from, so after they know where you are calling from, they connect you to a local receptionist.
For chats, most have only ever had British receptionists so far and they have always been very polite and nice. Sometimes it takes them more than 1 minute to answer but that is not often, usually, it is 20-60 seconds max.
I would say that availability is the only thing that bothers me. You can never be 100% sure you will get one of their receptionists, no matter which service level you choose. This depends on many factors so I do not see it as a big deal but I know some people might need more than just an answering machine!
3. How fast are Moneypenny receptionists?
Moneypenny has pretty fast service. It usually takes them less than 60 seconds to answer the phone, which is great. The longest I had to wait for a chat was about 6 minutes but that was only once and the receptionist who finally answered spoke very good English.
I never tried their online Live Chat but judging from the general speed of the Money Penny receptionists, I do not think you will have to wait too long for an answer.
4. Is there a Moneypenny App?
Yes, there is an app and it is available on iOS devices as well as Android. The app offers many features such as quick call (which lets you press 1 and connect directly to their answering machine), live chat, and voicemail (which you can access from your phone).
I think the only downside is that you have to pay for using the app. If you subscribe to their service, this fee does not apply but if you just want to use it as a customer then they may ask for a nominal fee.
5. Is Moneypenny Reliable?
Yes, I have not heard of a single occasion when their receptionists did not answer a client call or chat within a reasonable time. Their phone system is always available and it never breaks down. They have been using the same technology for years so there are no issues at all with that either.
6. How can Moneypenny be contacted?
You can contact Money Penny by phone, chat or through their website. They are open 24 hours a day. If you would like to submit a message online, just go to rhew comppny website.
7. Do Moneypenny receptionists speak any language other than English?
Most of them speak American English but they all have access to their own list of languages. If you are not comfortable with using English, you can ask for another language and it will be at your disposal.
8. Are Moneypenny prices competitive?
They are not the cheapest service you can find but I think their pricing structure is very straightforward and easy to understand ( no hidden fees ). The yearly plan with an American receptionist costs $20 per month, which works out at $240 per year for unlimited calls and chats. If you pay monthly, the price goes up to $25 per month (after billing your first year’s full payment in advance) so I suggest you go with the yearly plan if possible.
Money Penny prices are also very competitive when compared to other similar services such as LiveMinutes which costs $16 per month with no VAT and Ringio which costs $21 per month (and they do not publish their prices on their website).
9. Would you recommend Moneypenny to other small business owners?
Yes, I would definitely recommend Moneypenny for all small businesses that do not have the time or resources to hire a full-time receptionist and need an answering service for their phones. The service is reliable, the receptionists are always available and they answer your calls/chats in English or any other language you request.
I would add that Moneypenny does not offer a callback feature on their website which means that you have to call them back if there is no one available online when you chat with them. This is not a big issue for me but maybe something they should consider including in the future.
